What's it going to take for us to get developers to release games for Apple products earlier than two years after the fact? The iPhone, apparently -- EA has announced that their soccer flagship FIFA 10 will be available for the iPhone this Friday, which is the same day the console game shows up in stores as well. Critical Thoughts: Batman: Arkham Asylum

In one weekend, I both purchased and completed Batman: Arkham Asylum. I take my time with games, and am typically a chain-gamer, playing at any given time five or six games at once. This both says something about the game and about my interest in said game. Yes, it is very well-designed. Yes, it is entertaining. One might even call it a stellar game. Quite simply, as Chris Lewis puts it: It's the Bat!. The ability to play as Batman and do it well says much for the game and how it isSource: GayGamer.net RSS Feed

How Important is a Removable Notebook Battery? [WebWorkerDaily]

Almost exactly a year ago, Apple introduced its unibody aluminum MacBooks. “Unibody” means that the case is a single piece, with the battery being sealed inside. My immediate reaction, shared by many road warriors and web workers, was horror: “They can’t do that!” Not only did Apple do it, but soon after, the range was expanded to include the 17” MacBooks as well. As of today, the only MacBook available with a removable battery is the legacy white 13” MacBook, whose days areSource: GigaOM Network RSS Feed

DEMO: Matt Marshall inherits Chris Shipley’s dancing shoes (video)

We smuggled this grainy police video out of the hotel at DEMOfall 09 today. It is proof positive that our fearless leader, Matt Marshall, can dance. Sort of. At the close of the presentations at the event in San Diego today, Chris Shipley, the executive director of DEMO for 13 years, handed the reins over to Matt. As part of the deal, Matt had to learn Chris’ signature dance. As awkward as it seemed at first, it does look like Matt’s ready to follow in Chris’ footsteps. Think of Your Savings Plan as a Bedroom Dresser [Money]

New data shows that more of us are cutting spending, shaving debt, and saving more. Many of us, though, don’t have a multi-location plan for that stashed cash. The Wall Street Journal suggests using a bedroom dresser metaphor for better saving.

Why a dresser? Because each drawer contains clothing you always need, or only occasionally need, and each dresser serves a different purpose to get you dressed. Family money writer Karen Blumenthal explains a bitSource: TechBlogger RSS Feed

The game was written in C# using OpenGL, and ported to Zune HD with XNA Game Studio 3.1 using Visual Studio 2008. It really is an exceptional achievement.
